Group Head of Human Resources

About this role

Proten seeks a senior HR leader to serve as Group Head of Human Resources, based in Abuja. The role oversees the Group’s HR function and is the highest HR authority, reporting to the Managing Director; it requires relocation from Lagos to Abuja. It is intended for an experienced professional who has led an HR function and can shape group-wide structures and policies.

What you would do

• Lead the Group's HR function and supervise HR managers and teams.
• Establish Group-wide HR standards, policies and processes and ensure consistent application.
• Advise the Managing Director and senior management on workforce, organisational and people matters.
• Oversee recruitment and workforce planning across the Group, including senior and critical hires.
• Design and implement the Group’s HR structure, training and development, and performance management and succession planning.
• Ensure compliance, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and HR reporting.

• Must currently reside in Lagos, Nigeria and be willing to permanently relocate from Lagos to Abuja.
• Minimum of 10 years of extensive professional HR experience.
• Substantial experience as Head of Human Resources or leading the entire HR function of a reputable organisation or group.
• Proven ability to lead, supervise and direct HR Managers and other HR personnel.
• Relevant academic qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Management or related field; professional HR certifications with certificates verifiable.
• Extensive experience across organisational development, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, HR compliance and workforce planning.
