Grants & Partnerships Engagement Manager
About this role
The role is for a Grants & Partnerships Engagement Manager at The Congenital Heart Disease Foundation of Nigeria (CHDFNigeria) in Lagos. It targets a senior professional who will drive fundraising, grants management and strategic partnerships to fund and advance CHDF Nigeria’s mission. The foundation focuses on advocacy, awareness, family support, education and access to cardiac care for children and people with CHD in Nigeria. The successful candidate will turn strategy into results by securing funding, building durable partnerships and maintaining donor engagement over the long term.
What you would do
- Develop and implement annual fundraising plans with quarterly and monthly targets.
- Identify and secure new grants, sponsorships and donations while nurturing existing income streams.
- Create grant proposals, concept notes, pitch decks and donor presentations.
- Manage the full grant lifecycle from application to award, implementation, compliance and reporting.
- Build and sustain partnerships with donor agencies, corporate entities, foundations, government bodies and development partners.
- Organise partnership events, donor appreciation programmes and engagement sessions.
- Provide regular reports to Executive Management and the Board with recommendations to improve donor retention and partnership growth.
- Collaborate with programme and M&E teams to monitor grant implementation and impact.
- Lead and mentor the Grants & Partnerships team, including volunteers.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Development, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Marketing, Communications or related field (Master’s or professional certification is an advantage).
- At least 10 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years in fundraising, grants management, business development, donor relations or programme management in the nonprofit/NGO sector.
- Proven track record of securing grants from local and international donors.
- Strong experience in managing donor relationships and strategic partnerships.
- Excellent proposal writing, storytelling and presentation skills.
