About this role
A Genomic and Molecular Scientist is sought to perform molecular analyses, ensure quality and regulatory compliance, and support laboratory operations in Ikeja, Lagos. The role involves handling samples, conducting PCR, sequencing, and data interpretation, with emphasis on accuracy and documentation for quality assurance.
What you would do
- Process samples and extract DNA/RNA with proper documentation
- Perform molecular techniques such as PCR, qPCR, sequencing, and genotyping
- Analyse molecular data and interpret results for reports
- Maintain equipment and conduct regular quality control checks
- Collaborate with bioinformatics teams on data analysis
- Adhere to safety, GLP, and ISO 15189/17025 compliance requirements
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or Medical Lab Science (minimum second class upper)
- 1–2 years laboratory experience in a lab environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
- Knowledge of molecular diagnostic techniques (PCR, qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction, sequencing, gel electrophoresis, genotyping)
- Strong documentation and report writing skills
- Good communication and ability to learn quickly
