What you would do

• Oversee spare-parts planning and inventory control for critical spares.
• Champion root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives to address recurring issues.
• Develop and manage the mechanical maintenance budget and control operating, maintenance and capital costs.
• Establish and monitor maintenance performance indicators such as availability, reliability, cost, and schedule adherence.
• Review performance and trends to identify reliability gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Build and develop the mechanical maintenance team through coaching and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, standards, procedures and safe work practices.
• Lead mechanical modifications, upgrades and capital projects as needed.
• Monitor critical equipment and coordinate timely interventions to minimise downtime.
• Plan and lead maintenance for major plant equipment and coordinate cross-functional interventions.

• Postgraduate qualification in Engineering, Maintenance Management or Business Administration would be an added advantage.
• Extensive experience in mechanical maintenance, reliability and asset management in a cement environment, including senior maintenance leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong hands-on and leadership experience with major cement equipment and shutdowns/overhauls.
• Professional engineering membership/certification would be an advantage.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams, budgets and reliability improvement initiatives.
