General Manager - Marine Works Division

About this role

A General Manager for the Marine Works Division is sought in Lagos to lead and grow the division, overseeing strategic direction, project delivery, commercial performance and stakeholder management for marine infrastructure, including port rehabilitation projects such as the Lagos Port project.

What you would do

• Define and implement the division's strategy and operating model
• Oversee planning, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover of marine projects
• Manage budgets, forecasts, variations and profitability for the division
• Lead stakeholder engagement with clients, port authorities, government agencies and partners
• Build and mentor a multidisciplinary team and promote safety and continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with HSE, quality standards and contractual obligations

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Civil, Marine or Coastal Engineering or related field
• Around 20 years of experience in civil engineering, marine construction or major infrastructure projects
• Experience in senior leadership roles (e.g., General Manager, Operations Director) and delivering large-scale marine projects
• Strong technical understanding of marine works, planning, risk management and construction methods
• Proven budget responsibility, commercial acumen and cost control experience
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills; proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and Microsoft Office
