General Manager (Hospitality)

About this role

General Manager (Hospitality) role based in Lagos for iRecruiters Africa Limited. This is a senior leadership position for a commercially oriented, hands-on hospitality professional who can make significant operational and business decisions while engaging with the Chairman and Board. The GM will be responsible for setting strategy, driving profitability, and ensuring high standards of guest experience and brand reputation across hotel operations.

What you would do

• Translate strategic objectives into actionable operational and commercial plans to drive profitability and growth
• Own the hotel's P&L, develop and monitor budgets and forecasts, and manage financial performance
• Lead and coordinate all hotel operations across Front Office, F&B, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, and other departments
• Champion a high-quality guest experience and ensure consistent service standards across all touchpoints
• Build and develop the management team, set KPIs, and oversee recruitment, training, and performance management
• Maintain strong relationships with the Chairman, Board and key stakeholders, providing timely reporting and strategic recommendations

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related discipline
• MBA or postgraduate qualification in Business Administration or Hospitality Management is preferred
• 8-10 years' progressive experience in hotel or hospitality operations, including 3-5 years in a General Manager or senior hotel management role
• Proven experience with P&L ownership and management of commercial performance
• Experience working directly with hotel ownership or a Board
• Experience managing a property through renovation, rebranding, restructuring, or significant operational change is advantageous
