General Manager
About this role
Lopterra is seeking an experienced General Manager and Chief Operating Officer to lead the Renewable Energy Division in Lagos, Nigeria. The role provides strategic and operational leadership across business development, sales, operations, project delivery and customer experience, with accountability for financial performance and market growth.
What you would do
- Develop and execute the strategic plan for the Renewable Energy Division to drive growth and profitability.
- Oversee the division's day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and service excellence.
- Drive business development, secure new clients and strengthen relationships with key customers and strategic partners.
- Lead the sales function to achieve revenue targets and expand market share in solar and inverter solutions.
- Manage the delivery of renewable energy projects, ensuring delivery within scope, budget and timeline.
- Monitor financial performance, manage forecasts and budgets, and implement actions to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Master's degree (MBA or related postgraduate qualification) preferred.
- 8 to 10 years of progressive leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role in renewable energy, solar, inverter, electrical engineering or power sectors.
- Proven track record in business development, operations management, and strategic leadership.
- Strong understanding of Nigeria's renewable energy landscape, market dynamics and regulatory environment.
- Experience managing large-scale solar or inverter projects; strong financial and commercial acumen.
