About this role
The GBV Officer supports the design and delivery of survivor-centred activities to prevent and respond to gender-based violence, working with the program team to ensure safe and accessible services for survivors in Borno. The role involves community engagement, supervision of GBV activities, and coordination with partners to remove barriers to access.
What you would do
- Support the establishment and operation of women and girls friendly spaces.
- Mentor, supervise and monitor GBV implementation and draft monitoring actions.
- Plan and deliver community GBV prevention and awareness activities.
- Ensure referral forms are in place and used correctly.
- Support GBV case management where trained and authorised.
- Build staff capacity to provide direct GBV survivor support and services.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, Public Health, Nursing or related field with at least three years of field experience.
- Experience in GBV, GBV case management or similar functions preferred.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills in English and Hausa.
- Ability to multitask and manage data and reporting; proficient in relevant computer applications.
- Willingness to work in rural field settings and take initiative.
- Teamwork and supervisory experience.
