Fleet Support Officer

The role focuses on overseeing the operational performance of assigned fleet assets and drivers to ensure full utilisation, productivity, fuel efficiency, safety compliance, and achievement of operational and revenue targets. The position requires active driver management, asset deployment optimisation, and driving fleet performance improvements. The job is full-time and located on Lagos Island, Lagos.
What you would do
- Monitor assigned fleet assets and ensure effective journey execution
- Track vehicle utilisation, productivity, and operational performance
- Manage on-time delivery and delivery exceptions
- Coordinate with drivers, customers and stakeholders to resolve delays
- Promote fuel-efficient driving and monitor driver performance
- Optimise asset deployment, routing and backhaul opportunities
- Monitor proof of delivery closure and trip reconciliation
- Identify factors affecting fleet productivity and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with safety, journey management and operational requirements
- Liaise with maintenance teams to improve vehicle availability and reduce downtime
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field
- 2-5 years' experience in fleet operations, transport management, logistics or related roles
- Strong understanding of fleet utilisation, driver management and performance monitoring
- Experience using GPS tracking, fleet management or transport management systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
