First Mile and Last Mile Manager
About this role
The role leads a team of First Mile and Last Mile Operators to manage pickup and delivery operations, improve performance and ensure compliance with safety and regulations. It is based in Lagos, Oshogbo, Owerri or Asaba and targets candidates with logistics or delivery operations experience and leadership ability.
What you would do
- Monitor team performance and KPIs and take corrective actions to meet targets
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to optimise logistics processes and resolve issues
- Assign daily tasks and routes based on workload and customer requirements
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards and company policies
- Maintain records of pickup/delivery activities, vehicle maintenance and driver performance
- Provide guidance, training and support to team members and conduct performance evaluations
What they are asking for
- 5+ years in logistics, transportation or delivery operations, including 2 years in leadership or supervision
- Experience with route planning, tracking and reporting tools (e.g., GPS, route optimization software)
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation or related field is a plus
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong communication skills
- Based in Lagos, Owerri/Asaba or Oshogbo
- Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving abilities
