About this role

A fire-watch and safety services role based in Lagos for Scruples Resources. It involves monitoring hot-work areas for hazards, maintaining firefighting equipment and emergency access, and recording safety observations and incidents in line with site procedures. Preference is for candidates with fire-watch or site-safety training and basic firefighting knowledge, with experience in industrial, construction, oil and gas, marine or related projects.

What you would do

• Monitor hot-work zones to detect ignition sources, sparks, smoke and other hazards.
• Ensure firefighting equipment is ready and emergency access remains available within the work area.
• Continuously oversee designated areas during and after hot work as required.
• Stop or escalate unsafe activities in line with site authority and procedures.
• Participate in toolbox talks, emergency drills and safety observations.
• Record fire-watch activities and report incidents or near misses.

• A relevant degree, HND, OND, trade qualification or recognised professional certification appropriate to the discipline and level.
• Preferably with experience in industrial, construction, oil and gas, marine or project work.
• Certifications relevant to the role (statutory, technical, offshore, safety or professional) as required by the client, site or applicable standards.
