About this role

What you would do
- Develop and implement fire prevention and fire safety programmes.
- Conduct fire risk assessments and inspections across all operational areas.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, company standards and emergency response requirements.
- Lead firefighting, rescue, evacuation and emergency response activities as Incident Commander.
- Supervise Fire Officers, Firemen and Fire Truck Operators; prepare duty rosters and run drills.
- Ensure readiness of fire trucks and equipment; manage inspection, testing and maintenance of extinguishers, hydrants, pumps, alarms and related gear; monitor inventory.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Fire Engineering, Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Safety, Environmental Management, Emergency Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in industrial firefighting, fire prevention or emergency response; at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Firefighter I & II; NFPA Fire Officer/Fire Inspector; NEBOSH General Certificate; IOSH Managing Safely; Incident Command System; First Aid/CPR; ISPON certification/membership is an added advantage.
- Strong communication and people management skills.
- Ability to organise and deliver fire safety training and drills.
