Finisher (Automotive Engineering)

About this role

Proforce Industries Limited in Ogun is looking for a Finisher in Automotive Engineering to join its manufacturing facility. The role focuses on applying final surface treatments, finishing vehicle bodies and armored vehicles, and conducting quality checks to meet automotive and military-grade standards. It targets individuals with technical backgrounds and hands-on experience in automotive body finishing and assembly. Proforce operates in the automotive and defence manufacturing sector, delivering armored and protective mobility products. The position is full-time and based at Ode Remo, Ogun State.

What you would do

• Prepare metal, fiberglass, composite and armored surfaces through sanding, grinding, priming, filling and smoothing before painting or coating.
• Align, fit and polish exterior components, body panels, doors, trim and protective plating for seamless assembly.
• Apply sealants, anti-corrosion coatings, sound-dampening materials and topcoats per engineering standards.
• Inspect surfaces for defects and perform precision touch-ups and repairs.
• Operate finishing tools and equipment such as pneumatics, spray guns, polishers, buffers and sanders.
• Collaborate with the Quality Control team to ensure safety, structural integrity and visual specifications are met.
• Adhere to occupational health and safety regulations and use PPE in the workshop.
• Maintain accurate records of finishing processes and outcomes as required by production standards.
• Support continuous improvement activities related to finishing processes where applicable.
• Follow company policies and procedures during all finishing operations.

What they are asking for

• Educational background in NABTEB, OND, or HND/BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Metallurgy or related technical field.
• Minimum 2–4 years of practical experience in automotive body finishing, auto-body repair or vehicle assembly in a manufacturing setting.
• High precision and attention to detail with dexterity in handling power tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and automotive craftsmanship abilities.
• Knowledge of automotive materials (metals, composites, armored plating) and surface finishing techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and engineering schematics.
• Understanding of quality control standards, SOPs and finishing inspection techniques.
