Financial Controller
About this role
A Financial Controller is sought by Fadac Resources in Lagos to oversee the company’s financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic decisions. The role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, as well as cash flow, treasury, inventory control, and risk management. What you would do
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
- Lead the annual budgeting process, financial forecasting, variance analysis, and performance monitoring
- Analyse financial performance, costs, and key indicators to identify improvement opportunities
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, bank balances and liquidity for operations
- Monitor inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, stock movements and variances with operations teams
- Establish and maintain financial controls to safeguard assets and minimise risk
- Oversee revenue-related activities including reconciliations, POS transactions, cash collections and refunds
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable and ensure timely settlements
- Ensure tax compliance and regulatory reporting requirements are met
- Coordinate internal and external audits and implement corrective actions
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline
- Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA or equivalent
- 7 to 10 years of experience in finance and accounting, with supervisory experience
- Previous retail industry experience (supermarkets, FMCG, consumer goods or multi-branch ops)
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and internal controls
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management systems or ERP platforms
