Financial Controller
About this role
Opass Limited in Lagos is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the hotel’s financial operations, ensuring integrity, reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of accounting experience (at least 3 in hospitality finance) and a mandatory professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, ACA or CPA), with familiarity in hospitality systems and USALI.
What you would do
- Manage month-end and year-end accounting cycles within deadlines
- Prepare financial statements including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
- Supervise income audits
- Conduct regular spot checks in high-risk areas such as bars and kitchens
- Ensure accurate filing of VAT, WHT, PAYE and Pension
- Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures to prevent fraud and financial mismanagement

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or economics
- Professional certification: ICAN, ACCA, ACA or CPA (mandatory)
- 5–10 years in accounting, with at least 3 years in hospitality finance
- Proficiency in hospitality systems: Sun System, Opera, Micros
- Knowledge of the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI)
- Experience in cost control of COGS and labour costs
