Finance Associate

About this role

VFD Group is hiring a Finance Associate in Lagos to support the finance team in maintaining accurate records and producing financial reports. The role also covers reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with financial and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will work with business stakeholders to provide timely, relevant financial information for decision-making.

What you would do

• Prepare and support timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure correct recording and classification of transactions.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger, bank accounts, and intercompany balances.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities and monitor performance against budgets.
• Assist with regulatory and compliance reporting and maintain required documentation.

What they are asking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Progress towards ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification is an advantage.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, financial reporting, audit, or related function.
• Experience in financial services, banking, investment, or capital markets is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting/ERP systems; good communication and teamwork abilities.
