Field Service Engineer (Abuja)
About this role
A contract Field Service Engineer based in Abuja to support Jaza Energy’s expansion by maintaining and troubleshooting solar energy systems at hubs and sites. The role involves field work across Nigeria, data reporting, and coordinating with the data team to ensure continuous energy uptime.
What you would do
- Collaborate with Jaza Stars and the data team to diagnose and resolve technical challenges.
- Prepare hub health and technical issue reports for the Regional Service Engineer.
- Document field activities and maintain hub equipment and component inventories.
- Assist with setting up new hubs, ensuring connectivity and routine energy system maintenance.
- Travel to hubs or remotely troubleshoot and resolve issues to maintain energy uptime.
- Oversee installation and configuration of solar panels, electrical wiring and related equipment.
What they are asking for
- 2-3 years of technical/engineering experience in telecommunications, energy or related sectors.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field OR equivalent hands-on experience.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong initiative.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and reporting software (MS Office and Google products).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and safety/compliance skills (HSE).
- Experience with installing or ensuring uptime of energy systems, ideally including diesel and solar.
