Field Engineer
About this role
The role is for a Field Engineer to install, maintain, troubleshoot and support ISP network infrastructure and customer connectivity, primarily based in Kano but requiring field work. It targets candidates with technical networking experience and a willingness to travel for on-site deployments.
What you would do
- Install, configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches and access points.
- Carry out fiber optic, wireless and network installations at customer locations.
- Perform site surveys, equipment testing and preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot connectivity and equipment faults and provide technical support to customers.
- Monitor network performance and escalate major faults when needed.
- Maintain records of field activities, installations, faults and repairs.
What they are asking for
- 2–4 years of experience in ISP, telecommunications, networking or a related technical environment.
- HND or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in the field and travel to different locations.
- Knowledge of fiber optics, wireless networks, LAN/WAN, routers, switches and CPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.
