Farm Manager - Oil Palm Plantation
About this role
Allverter Farms Limited is seeking an experienced Farm Manager to oversee its oil palm operations in Edo. The role covers managing current 14 acres as a prototype operation and leading the expansion to over 100 hectares, including planning, budgeting, staffing and implementing mechanisation and data-driven practices. The Farm Manager will supervise daily activities, monitor crop health and productivity, and drive the expansion plan with management. The position is full-time with potential salary progression as the farm grows and accommodation provided. Candidates must have proven oil palm plantation management experience and be willing to relocate to Edo State.
What you would do
- Monitor palm growth, survival rates and crop health
- Assign daily and weekly tasks and track productivity
- Prepare periodic farm performance reports (weekly, monthly, annual)
- Create farm budgets, labour plans, inputs and schedules
- Develop and execute activity roadmaps for planting, maintenance, fertilisation, pest control and harvesting
- Identify operational challenges and propose productivity and cost-reduction solutions
- Train workers on farm practices, equipment use and safety
- Lead the 14-acre to 100-hectare expansion plan, including land development and planting
- Manage day-to-day farm operations and ensure work aligns with plan
- Maintain records of activities, inputs, labour, costs and yields
