Executive Assistant / Legal Officer
About this role
A role for a legal professional to provide high level executive support to the Managing Director while overseeing the company’s legal, regulatory, governance and compliance needs. It targets candidates with a legal background and experience in legal documentation, compliance monitoring and corporate governance in a corporate environment.
What you would do
- Manage the Managing Director's calendar and commitments
- Prepare agendas, briefing notes, presentations and executive reports
- Attend meetings, record key decisions and track action points
- Coordinate internal and external correspondence for the Managing Director
- Review documents and flag potential legal or compliance risks
- Monitor compliance deadlines and maintain governance records and action trackers
What they are asking for
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) is mandatory
- Call to Bar or qualification as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria is strongly preferred
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in legal, compliance, corporate governance or executive support
- Experience in legal documentation, contract review, compliance monitoring and governance
- Experience supporting senior management in a corporate environment is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian legal and regulatory requirements and excellent communication skills
