Excavator Operator

What you would do

• Operate excavators for digging, excavation, loading, trenching and material handling.
• Work with supervisors and other equipment operators to meet operational targets.
• Monitor for hazards and ensure safe operation within designated areas.
• Carry out earthmoving and excavation activities per requirements.
• Report faults, defects or maintenance needs promptly.
• Conduct pre-start and post-operation inspections of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper care of assigned equipment.
• Comply with health, safety and environment requirements and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What they are asking for

• Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
• Trade Test Certificate I, II or III in a relevant technical or vocational discipline (added qualification).
• Valid Class H Driver’s Licence (mandatory).
• 3 to 8 years of relevant excavator operating experience (mining, quarrying, construction, cement or heavy industrial operations preferred).
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow HSE requirements.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of excavator controls and operating techniques.
