About this role

Stockgap Fuels Limited is expanding its operations and is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Officer to support day‑to‑day safety across plant areas such as bulk storage, filling lines and loading zones. The role involves enforcing PPE use, permit‑to‑work systems and hazard prevention, as well as incident reporting, PTW auditing and LOTO/PPE compliance. Responsibilities include inspecting firefighting equipment and gas detectors, conducting safety inductions, and leading toolbox talks on a regular basis. The position is based in Abuja and targets candidates with specific HSE experience in oil and gas or process plants. The company operates in Nigeria’s downstream oil and gas sector and is expanding its LPG business with new facilities.”

What you would do

• Assist with incident reporting and near-miss logging.
• Audit and issue Permit-to-Work documentation and enforce LOTO and PPE compliance.
• Inspect firefighting equipment and gas detection units.
• Conduct safety inductions for staff, visitors and contractors.
• Facilitate daily or weekly toolbox talks.
• Support environmental waste segregation checks.
• Supervise safety practices on the plant floor across relevant areas.

What they are asking for

• 2–4 years of HSE experience in oil & gas or process plant environment.
• OND / HND or Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field.
• ISPON Safety Certification (Level I/II) is required.
• NEBOSH IGC is an added advantage.
