About this role
The Enterprise Integrations Engineer at Flutterwave in Lagos leads the technical onboarding of large enterprise merchants, such as payment service providers and global brands, using Flutterwave APIs. The role sits between Sales and Engineering and focuses on fewer, larger, more complex integrations with responsibility from kickoff to stable live transactions. You coordinate with Sales, Product, Engineering and Compliance to scope, test and launch integrations, and you may work with a Senior Integration Engineer on the most complex projects. Success is measured by how quickly contracts reach first live transaction and by payment success rates for live merchants. The job involves cross-team collaboration, problem solving, and documenting progress in Jira, while handing over to the Technical Account Manager after stabilization. Flutterwave aims to enable payments across Africa and supports merchants to go live with payments in the region.
What you would do
- Manage end-to-end onboarding for each enterprise integration from kickoff to live operation
- Scope customer requirements and advise on the appropriate integration approach (direct API vs hosted checkout)
- Conduct technical kickoff meetings and validate capabilities against product offerings
- Test integrations in the test environment, including 3DS, mobile money, webhooks and pending payments
- Complete go-live checks and ensure business verification and system checks are in place
- Maintain thorough Jira records with actions, blockers, owners and next steps
- Communicate with merchants via Slack or email to resolve technical issues
- Explain Flutterwave APIs to merchant developers and guide API usage (card tokenisation, recurring payments, split payments)
- Identify and diagnose failures by analysing API requests/responses and logs
- Collaborate across teams to raise and manage blockers, support live incidents and improve processes
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- 4–9 years of experience in integration or implementation engineering
- Ability to read and debug REST API requests/responses in JSON
- Proficiency with Postman for testing APIs
- Ability to read code in JavaScript, Python or PHP
- Experience managing multiple high-value projects with timelines and Jira or similar tools
- Strong written and verbal communication, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
