Engineering Specialist, Offensive Security

About this role

AppZone Limited in Lagos is seeking an Engineering Specialist in Offensive Security to identify vulnerabilities, perform penetration tests and assess security risks across enterprise networks, systems and applications. The role targets professionals with at least three years in a similar role, preferably with fintech or financial services experience and strong red-team security skills.

What you would do

• Identify vulnerabilities and exposure across enterprise networks, systems and applications.
• Conduct authorised penetration testing on enterprise assets and support exploitation activities for new or updated applications.
• Perform risk and vulnerability assessments (technical and non-technical) of key focus areas and provide recommendations for cost-effective security controls.
• Produce technical documents, incident reports, and other situational awareness information for stakeholders.
• Develop threat-hunting test scenarios, conduct ethical hack tests, and analyse trends to identify indicators of compromise.
• Create and implement cybersecurity countermeasures, tools, and risk mitigation strategies.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or related discipline from a reputable higher institution.
• 3+ years experience in a similar role, preferably in a fintech or financial services industry.
• Experience leading projects and mentoring junior team members (desirable).
• Strong analytical, planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with web security, application security, and strong red-team security experience is essential.
