Supabase operates as a fully remote, globally distributed company offering ESOP, benefits, and professional development opportunities.
What you would do
- Build and maintain a healthy, high-trust team culture in a remote-first environment.
- Conduct 1:1s, manage performance, and support career development for direct reports.
- Handle people administration such as leaves and time off for the team.
- Own the hiring plan and act as Hiring Manager; participate in first-round interviews.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to source, interview, and close candidates.
- Contribute to headcount planning, org design, and leadership evolution at Supabase.
- Own the team's roadmap and manage project milestones (Linear).
- Manage workflow intake and Slack triage for cross-team requests.
- Produce weekly updates to keep stakeholders aligned and manage the team’s SLOs.
- Identify and surface risks, dependencies and tradeoffs to leadership.
What they are asking for
- At least 5 years of engineering experience with credibility in complex systems.
- At least 3 years of managing remote engineering teams.
- Experience leading engineering teams at a cloud, SaaS, or developer tools company.
- Background with developer tools or databases, ideally including SQLite and Postgres ecosystems.
- Strong backend and database systems knowledge (APIs, authentication, Postgres access control).
- Proven track record of leading a team shipping developer-facing APIs or platform products to production.
- Experience managing globally distributed, asynchronous teams across time zones.
- Strong people management orientation with ability to build psychological safety and a feedback culture.
- Ability to coach and remove blockers, connecting engineers with context and resources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable with ambiguity and building structure.
