Engineering Manager
About this role
An Engineering Manager role based in Rivers (Port Harcourt area) for an experienced lead in upstream oil and gas facilities engineering. The position oversees the Nigerian engineering team, liaises with clients and regulatory bodies, and coordinates in-country FEED and detailed design work.
What you would do
- Lead and coordinate the Nigerian engineering team, assigning work and checking output quality.
- Organise review of engineering partner deliverables ahead of each gate and track close-out actions.
- Lead joint site assessments at the terminal and manage data required for design interfaces.
- Prepare technical content for regulatory submissions and support engagement with regulators.
- Manage civil/structural and technical safety subcontracts, including scope, deliverables, schedules and invoice verification.
- Recruit, coach and appraise engineers and prepare the team for detailed engineering.
What they are asking for
- At least 15 years in upstream oil and gas facilities engineering.
- Minimum 5 years leading multidiscipline engineering teams.
- Experience with HAZID/HAZOP and managing engineering subcontracts; produced water experience an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Nigerian regulatory requirements (NUPRC, EGASPIN, NCDMB).
- Willingness to work unconventional hours due to time difference with Canada-based parent company.
- B.Eng. or B.Sc. in chemical, mechanical or related engineering; COREN registered; right to live and work in Nigeria (NYSC discharge or exemption).
