Engineering Assistant

About this role

Engineering Assistant role based in Lagos for an EV infrastructure company. The position targets candidates with technical hands-on skills in electrical/electronic systems who can work across lab, workshop, conversion sites and field locations.

What you would do

• Diagnose faults in batteries, BMS, chargers, controllers, motors, sensors and other components.
• Perform voltage, current, continuity, charging, thermal and performance tests and identify root causes.
• Document test results, findings, photos and repair recommendations.
• Assist in decisions on repair, reuse, warranty, quarantine or scrapping of components.
• Support testing and validation of new EV kits and components before deployment.
• Support hardware R&D, battery-pack improvements, controller/motor testing and wiring/harness improvements.

What they are asking for

• HND, BSc or strong technical diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Physics or related field.
• 1–3+ years of practical experience in electronics diagnosis, battery systems, EV systems, mechatronics, automotive electrical systems, lab testing or technical R&D.
• Good knowledge of batteries and electrical systems; familiarity with BMS, motors, controllers, sensors, power electronics, wiring harnesses and charging systems is a plus.
• Ability to use tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, bench power supplies, soldering/rework tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills; ability to prepare clear technical reports.
• Safety-conscious with attention to detail and able to work between lab, workshop and field locations.
