Energy Systems Engineer
About this role
An Energy Systems Engineer designs and supports PV, storage and hybrid energy solutions for commercial and industrial clients, providing technical and commercial input from proposal stage through to construction handover. The role involves creating BOQs and designs, conducting site surveys and energy analyses, and coordinating with sales, supply chain and project teams in Lagos.
What you would do
- Understand customer objectives from project brief and define win strategy
- Conduct site surveys and energy audits as needed
- Prepare technical solution BOQ and designs using tools like PVSyst, Homer Pro, Helioscope
- Manage bids and technical content ensuring RFP requirements are met
- Coordinate costing with supply chain, marketing, finance and other stakeholders
- Draft and revise plans for SME and C&I PV systems using AutoCAD or PC Schematic and assist in negotiations to close deals
What they are asking for
- First degree or master’s degree in Electrical/Power Engineering
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in design and development of electrical and power systems
- Experience in solar solution design and in power generation, transmission and distribution
- Experience in switchyard design and management and electrical control panel design
- Basic knowledge of PLC and microcontroller based systems; battery technologies and inverter-based backup design
- Strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and ability to work cross-functionally
