Electronics Commodity Buyer
About this role
An Electronics Commodity Buyer based in Lagos will lead the sourcing strategy for the Electronics category, working with R&D, Industrialization, Quality, Production and Supply Chain to ensure supplier readiness, cost competitiveness, and component availability for electronics-focused products. The role reports to the Sourcing Manager and supports new product introductions and the evolving electronics portfolio.
What you would do
- Define and implement sourcing strategies for the Electronics commodity.
- Develop and manage suppliers for electronic components, PCB assemblies, EMS providers, power electronics, sensors and related technologies.
- Lead supplier development focusing on quality, capacity, manufacturing robustness and delivery performance.
- Support new product introductions by ensuring supplier readiness and component availability.
- Collaborate with R&D Hardware, Industrialization and Quality to evaluate solutions and supplier capabilities.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and manage lifecycle activities including EOL monitoring and continuity planning.
What they are asking for
- Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electronics sourcing, supplier development, technical procurement or supplier quality in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of electronic components, PCB assemblies, EMS suppliers and electronics manufacturing processes.
- Experience supporting NPI, industrialization and supplier qualification activities.
- Knowledge of cost engineering, value engineering and supply chain risk management principles.
- Good knowledge of SAP MM; experience with Power BI and advanced Excel for data-driven decisions.
