Electrical Technician (Oil and Gas Experience)

The role is for an Electrical Technician with oil and gas experience, based in Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom. The job involves installing, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems on oil and gas greenfield and construction projects. The technician will work with electrical equipment, cable trays, conduits, control cables, lighting, earthing and bonding, distribution components, and will support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities. Responsibilities include fault finding, reading electrical diagrams, installing equipment and wiring, conducting testing and inspections, and coordinating with other site teams. What you would do

• Identify and troubleshoot electrical faults and equipment malfunctions.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams and schedules.
• Install and connect motors, control stations, boxes, and accessories.
• Carry out cable tray, conduit installation, pulling, glanding, termination and dressing.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Follow permit-to-work, LOTO, isolation procedures, and HSE regulations.
• Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, polarity, and earth tests.
• Report progress, challenges and shortages to Electrical Supervisor.
• Support inspections, quality checks and punch-list resolution.
• Assist with pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant oil and gas electrical experience.
• Practical experience in electrical installation, cable pulling/termination, glanding, earthing, and testing.
• OND, HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience on oil and gas greenfield projects, construction sites or plant installations.
• Ability to read single-line diagrams, cable schedules, and layout drawings.
• Experience with switchgear, MCCs, distribution panels, transformers, motors, and industrial lighting.
