Electrical Supervisor
About this role
The role is for an Electrical Supervisor who will oversee and perform technical maintenance on high-speed plastic packaging lines, focusing on Husky and SACMI systems, hot runners, and dehumidifier infrastructures. It requires leading shift technicians, diagnosing complex electrical and automation issues, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. The position is based in Lagos (Alaba Coker) and at Prima Corporation Limited, a manufacturer of preforms and caps in West Africa. The role involves hands-on electrical work, maintenance planning, and interaction with vendors for parts and support.
What you would do
- Direct and review daily work orders for shift maintenance electricians and technicians
- Provide on-the-job support and training on hardware diagnostics and safe electrical practices
- Lead troubleshooting for Husky injection moulding presses and SACMI IPS machinery
- Manage hot runner system installation, wiring, testing and PID calibration
- Maintain desiccant dryers, material conveying systems and mold dehumidifiers
- Troubleshoot and optimise PLC configurations, HMIs, and take-out robotics
- Trace and resolve industrial communication network issues (Profibus, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP)
- Enforce safety protocols and audit Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Manage electrical spare parts inventory and liaise with OEM vendors for parts
- Document maintenance activities and prepare reports
What they are asking for
- B. Tech / B.Eng. / HND in Electrical Engineering
- 5 - 7 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance and supervision
- Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, motors, sensors, and control systems
- Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of industrial equipment
- Knowledge of industrial safety regulations and electrical standards
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills
- Troubleshooting and fault-finding expertise
- Good report writing and maintenance documentation skills
