About this role
Stockgap Fuels Limited seeks an Electrical Engineer (Projects) in Lagos to provide in-house electrical design and procurement support for LPG, composite cylinders, storage, and gas projects. The role involves creating electrical load lists and MV/LV single line diagrams, sizing equipment, and performing power system studies using ETAP. The engineer will draft technical specs and RFQs, evaluate bids, and lead FAT/SAT inspections, as well as oversee site electrical works and commissioning activities. It targets candidates with substantial project engineering experience in oil and gas, capable of managing electrical procurement independently and producing SLDs from load calculations. The employer operates in fuel distribution, including LPG, and collaborates with international partners and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
What you would do
- Develop electrical load lists and MV/LV SLDs
- Size transformers, switchgear, generators, and UPS systems
- Perform power system studies (load flow, short-circuit) using ETAP
- Draft technical specifications, datasheets, and RFQs
- Conduct Technical Bid Evaluations and lead FAT/SAT inspections
- Inspect electrical site works against ITPs and witness tests (megger, continuity, grounding)
- Support PSSR energization close-outs
- Lead procurement activities for electrical equipment
- Coordinate with vendors and ensure compliance with standards
- Provide procurement and design input across LPG and gas projects
What they are asking for
- BEng or BSc in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- 5 to 10 years of project engineering experience in oil and gas (EPC or owner-side)
- Ability to prepare SLDs from load calculations and manage electrical procurement independently
- Experience with hazardous area standards (IEC 60079, IEC/NEC/IEEE)
- Proficiency in ETAP and AutoCAD Electrical
- COREN registration preferred
