Electrical Engineer, Panel Builder
About this role
The role is for an Electrical Engineer specializing in panel building, based in Lagos. It involves designing, assembling, wiring, testing, and commissioning electrical control panels and switchboards, ensuring safety, accuracy, and timely delivery according to drawings and standards.
What you would do
- Review engineering documents and drawings before starting work
- Interpret approved designs and panel-building drawings
- Prepare materials and tools for fabrication and assembly
- Assemble control panels, distribution boards, MCCs, automation panels and related enclosures
- Install and wire components such as breakers, relays, PLCs, VFDs and control devices
- Perform wiring, cable management, testing and verification of completed panels
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 3–5 years' experience in electrical panel building or related areas
- Practical experience in assembling and wiring control panels and enclosures
- Experience interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of electrical standards, codes and safe working practices
- Advantage: professional certification or membership in a recognised engineering body; training in panel building, PLCs, VFDs or control systems
