Electrical Engineer
About this role
Collection Developments is seeking an Electrical Engineer to supervise electrical works on site for major residential or commercial projects, including LV distribution, solar power, standby generators, CCTV and access control. The role is for candidates with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and substantial site engineering experience, preferably with COREN registration and at least 10 years on large projects.
What you would do
- Supervise all electrical works on site, including LV distribution, containment and cabling, consumer units and distribution boards, sub-metering, lighting, power sockets, standby generator installation and automatic transfer switch, solar power installation, external and streetlighting, CCTV, access control systems, and data and communications cabling.
- Ensure external electrical installations are specified, supplied, and installed to the correct protection rating for coastal exposure.
- Review electrical shop drawings and material submittals; assess for approval or rejection.
- Inspect all electrical first-fix installations; check cable routes, containment, fire barriers, and circuit protection.
- Witness and record all electrical testing and inspection in accordance with applicable wiring regulations.
- Lead electrical commissioning and testing in the final phase, including LV distribution, generator testing, solar power commissioning, and full estate lighting test.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- COREN registration is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of electrical site engineering experience on major residential or commercial projects.
- Experience with standby generator installation, solar power systems, and coastal-rated electrical installations is preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable Nigerian and international electrical standards is required.
- Membership of NSE is an advantage.
