Electrical and Instrumentation Technician
About this role
Electrical and Instrumentation Technician responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation, control, and safety systems in offshore environments to support reliable upstream oil and gas production. The role targets experienced professionals with hands-on technical skills and offshore exposure.
What you would do
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities, commissioning, shutdowns, and equipment reinstatement
- Identify defects and operational risks and escalate appropriately
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, control and safety systems supporting production operations
- Diagnose and rectify faults on motors, MCCs, electrical distribution, transmitters, control valves, PLC, ESD, and F&G systems
- Ensure maintenance activities and technical records are completed accurately per procedures
- Perform instrumentation calibration, loop checks, functional testing, and cause-and-effect verification
What they are asking for
- BOSIET/HUET and valid offshore medical certification where applicable
- Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation maintenance practices, procedures, and documentation
- Relevant certifications such as CompEx, ISA, City & Guilds or equivalent (desirable)
- HND or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation, Control Engineering or related discipline
- Demonstrable hands-on experience in offshore or operational environments
- 8–12 years of relevant oil and gas experience with upstream E&P exposure
