About this role
An Economist role with Amaiden Energy Nigeria Limited, based in Port Harcourt, Rivers. The role involves carrying out economic evaluations and financial analysis of E&P projects, exploration and appraisal activities, new business opportunities, reserves and budgets, and supporting long-term planning by developing economic models and providing recommendations for sanctioning, investment decisions and strategic planning.
What you would do
- Participate in annual planning exercises including the E&P Long Term Plan, Budget, PRIME reserves calculation, Exploration & Appraisal budget and ASC932 cash flow reporting to the US stock exchange
- Carry out economic studies of development projects, exploration wells, new business deals and project sanction dossiers
- Present and explain economic results to the group’s decision authorities
- Maintain and update the economic model and modelling recap with changes in the economic environment and fiscal regulations
- Lead the development, audit and validation of Excel tools and models used for economic evaluations
- Deliver regular economic assessments to influence decision-making and support long-term planning and budgeting
What they are asking for
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Economics, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline; professional qualification is an added advantage
- Strong experience in Microsoft Excel and economic modelling; proficiency in Excel/VBA
- High computer literacy with strong numerical, analytical and attention-to-detail skills
- Upstream oil and gas experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong synthesis, communication and ability to present clear messages and escalate issues to senior management
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
