Drug Dispenser
About this role
A full-time Drug Dispenser role based in Maiduguri, Borno, supporting pharmaceutical services within a humanitarian health programme. The position involves dispensing medicines under supervision, providing patient instructions, and maintaining records with a focus on accuracy, confidentiality and safety.
What you would do
- Dispense prescribed medicines in line with valid prescriptions and approved protocols
- Provide patients and caregivers with clear dosage, administration, storage and safety instructions
- Receive, review and document prescriptions and dispensing records for completeness and authorization
- Maintain dispensing registers and ensure proper filing, storage and retrievability of records
- Monitor stock levels, conduct routine counts and follow FEFO and storage guidelines
- Report dispensing discrepancies, safety concerns, and deviations to the supervising pharmacist or prescriber
