The International Labour Organization (ILO) seeks a Driver for its Abuja office on a fixed-term one-year contract. The role involves providing transport and basic support services for office operations, including driving, mail handling, and vehicle maintenance. The driver reports to the Chief Technical Advisor and the ILO Country Office Director in Nigeria.
What you would do
- Drive office vehicles for official purposes.
- Meet officials at the airport and assist with immigration and customs formalities.
- Collect and deliver mail, pouches, documents and other items.
- Maintain the assigned vehicle, including basic checks, minor repairs, cleaning, and following accident procedures.
- Keep records of vehicle use, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes and other services.
- Provide miscellaneous office support such as messenger services and photocopying.

- Secondary education and a valid driver's licence.
- Knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repairs.
- Two years’ work experience as a driver with a safe driving record.
- Preference for experience with technical cooperation projects, UN organisations or donors.
- Good knowledge of a Nigerian local language and ability to communicate in English.
- Strong driving, vehicle maintenance and record-keeping skills.
