The role involves transporting goods, employees and executives safely and on schedule, maintaining the company vehicle, and adhering to safety rules. What you would do
- Safely transport goods, employees and management to scheduled locations.
- Follow traffic regulations and company policies while driving.
- Plan efficient routes to reduce travel time and fuel use.
- Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained; schedule regular servicing.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks (oil, tires, lights, brakes) and report issues.
- Maintain logs of trips, maintenance, fuel use and mileage.
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods.
- Ensure timely arrivals and adapt routes to traffic or instructions.
- Provide customer service and maintain professional conduct with passengers and clients.
- Submit trip and vehicle condition reports to the Logistics Manager.
What they are asking for
- SSCE or equivalent qualification.
- Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record.
- At least 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in corporate or delivery settings.
- Experience with operating different vehicle types (cars, vans, trucks) is desirable.
- Knowledge of local roads and routes, particularly Awka and surrounding areas.
- Strong driving skills with safety focus; basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
- Good time management and ability to adapt to changing schedules.
- Attention to detail for vehicle upkeep and documentation.
- Strong communication, reliability and accountability.
