Draughtsman

About this role

The role is for a Draughtsman at the Dangote Group, supporting the Engineering and Maintenance teams. It involves creating, updating and maintaining detailed technical drawings and documentation for plant operations, modifications and capital projects. What you would do

• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, fabrication, assembly drawings and schematics per specifications.
• Update and maintain existing drawings to reflect modifications and expansion projects.
• Convert sketches, measurements and designs into accurate technical drawings.
• Create as-built drawings after project completion or installations.
• Visit sites to collect measurements and verify installations.
• Organise and manage drawing archives and revision records according to procedures.
• Provide drafting support for equipment installations, maintenance shutdowns and capital projects.
• Ensure drawings comply with engineering standards and company requirements.
• Support multidisciplinary engineering teams with documentation and drawings.
• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in all drawing-related tasks.

What they are asking for

• National Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering, Architecture, Drafting Technology or related technical discipline (or Trade Test Grade I-III in relevant fields).
• AutoCAD or other CAD software proficiency.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, civil, structural and instrumentation drawings.
• Experience in creating equipment layouts, piping drawings and as-built drawings.
• Knowledge of P&IDs, GA drawings and engineering schematics.
• Strong document control and drawing revision management skills.
• Three years minimum industrial experience in engineering drafting or related fields.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
