About this role
A Draughtsman is needed in Lagos to support the engineering and maintenance teams. The role involves creating, updating and managing detailed technical drawings and documentation for plant operations, maintenance, modifications and capital projects. The position supports Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural and Instrumentation engineering teams, ensuring drawings meet standards and company requirements. The candidate should be able to interpret engineering concepts, perform site verifications and produce accurate drawings such as layouts, schematics and as-built documents. What you would do
- Convert sketches, measurements and designs into technical drawings
- Visit sites to collect dimensions and verify installations
- Prepare and update as-built drawings after project completion
- Review and revise drawings to reflect modifications and plant expansions
- Organise and maintain drawing and document control systems
- Provide drafting support for equipment installations and maintenance projects
- Develop detailed drawings, layouts, fabrication and assembly drawings, and schematics
- Produce technical drawings based on engineering specifications and project requirements
- Support capital projects and plant upgrades with compliant drawings
- Ensure drawings comply with engineering standards and company procedures
What they are asking for
- National Diploma (ND) in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Architecture, Drafting Technology or related field OR Trade Test Grade I-III in relevant drafting/engineering fields
- Professional certifications in document control, engineering drafting, AutoCAD or related are an added advantage
- Minimum of three years' industrial experience in engineering drafting or related environments
- Experience in preparing fabrication drawings, piping layouts, equipment and structural drawings, electrical schematics or as-built documentation is beneficial
- Competence in AutoCAD or other CAD software and document control
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, civil, structural and instrumentation drawings
- Knowledge of P&IDs, GA drawings and drafting standards
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication, teamwork and time management abilities
