Disc Jockey (DJ)
About this role
The Disc Jockey will curate and control the music and atmosphere across Cedar Grillz & Lounge in Abuja, covering the restaurant, lounge and open-air space. They will deliver smooth, well-paced sets from relaxed dinner vibes to high-energy nights and help build the venue’s distinctive sound identity for a professional DJ with a portfolio of recorded mixes.
What you would do
- Perform professional DJ sets across Afrobeats, Amapiano, hip-hop, R&B, Highlife, Afro-fusion, dancehall, house and throwbacks
- Design each evening’s music flow and adapt to the crowd
- Plan themed nights, guest DJ sets and special event soundtracks
- Coordinate music cues with the floor, bar, games and management teams
- Maintain an organised and legally sourced music library
- Set up, operate and care for the DJ booth, sound system and lighting
What they are asking for
- SSCE/WAEC/NECO with credit in English
- 3-5 years of professional DJ experience in clubs, lounges, restaurants or events
- Strong mixing skills on Serato, Rekordbox, Traktor or equivalent
- Proven ability to read a crowd and manage energy across a full evening
- Portfolio of recorded mixes, live-set videos and references required
- Minimum age of 21
