Director, Business Development, Fintech, West Africa

About this role

Role focused on driving Mastercard's fintech growth in West Africa with responsibility for the fintech portfolio P&L. Based in Lagos, the role involves building executive-level partnerships with fintech founders, CEOs and other ecosystem stakeholders to shape growth strategies and drive revenue.

What you would do

• Own the fintech portfolio P&L across West Africa, driving revenue growth and profitability through partnerships and commercialization.
• Build and maintain executive relationships with fintech founders, CEOs, investors and ecosystem stakeholders to shape growth agendas.
• Develop and execute market-level fintech strategies aligned with regional priorities and long-term objectives.
• Manage and grow the fintech business portfolio, accountable for revenue, pipeline development and performance against strategic goals.
• Lead senior executive reviews, governance forums and strategic planning sessions with fintech partners to align on growth targets.
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration across Products, Services, Acceptance, Marketing, Franchise, Legal, Finance and Regional teams to deliver integrated partner solutions.

• Strong executive presence with ability to influence C-suite, founders and senior decision-makers.
• Experience developing and executing strategic account plans and partnership strategies.
• Strong financial acumen including P&L management, forecasting, business case development, pricing strategy and ROI analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex negotiations and align internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience working with fintech partners or within financial services ecosystems.
