Digital Engagement Intern
About this role
ActionAid Nigeria is offering a Digital Engagement Intern position in Abuja. The role is for recent graduates completing NYSC who will help manage and strengthen the social media presence of the organisation’s leadership. The internship focuses on using digital platforms to amplify impact, support advocacy and humanitarian efforts, and engage a diverse range of stakeholders, with a need for discretion and confidentiality.
What you would do
- Create engaging content for the leadership's social media channels aligned with ActionAid's mission and values.
- Curate and share multimedia content (graphics, videos, infographics, photos) highlighting leadership achievements and impact.
- Manage the leadership’s social media profiles to reflect a professional brand and align with trends in social justice and development.
- Encourage sharing of articles and opinion pieces by the leadership to position them as credible voices in advocacy.
- Regularly update and maintain social media accounts under the guidance of the Communications Coordinator.
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions on social media.

- First degree in Mass Communication or a related field.
- Relevant NYSC experience in related fields.
- Proficiency with major social media platforms (X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
- Knowledge of content production, including video and graphics design; mobile photography/videography.
- Competence with mobile graphic design and editing tools; familiarity with social media management tools.
- Basic understanding of analytics to track performance.
- Ability to work independently and in a team; reliable and accountable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; attention to detail; discretion with confidential information.
- Willingness to adapt to flexible hours and multicultural environment.
