DevSecOps Engineer
About this role
The role is for a DevSecOps Engineer based in Lagos, employed full-time by Growth in Value Alliance (GVA) Partners, a business advisory and market intelligence firm. The position focuses on integrating security into DevOps practices, making security a shared responsibility across teams. The firm aims to deliver automated deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management in cloud environments while maintaining high security and reliability. The candidate will work with Agile teams, develop automation scripts, and support technical operations and vendors as needed.
What you would do
- Provide hands-on technical expertise in DevOps tasks
- Define and implement deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure standards for the customer
- Help deliver end-to-end automation of deployment, monitoring and infrastructure management in a cloud environment
- Build and configure delivery environments supporting CI/CD tools using Agile methods
- Create scripts or templates to automate infrastructure provisioning and management
- Collaborate with development teams to automate CI/CD systems
- Coordinate with vendors and IT staff for issue resolution
- Monitor and support installed systems and infrastructure
- Develop custom scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual work
- Mentor junior infra engineers and promote secure development practices

- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- Proficiency with Jenkins, Docker, Java, Python, Ruby, Perl, scripting languages, YAML
- Experience with SAST and DAST tools
- Experience deploying and monitoring web applications in AWS
- Security-first mindset and experience with secure development practices
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and infrastructure provisioning strategies
- Experience with systems reliability, load balancing, monitoring and logging
- Experience automating CI/CD pipelines end-to-end
- Strong communication skills with peers and clients
- Experience administering UNIX/Linux environments and networking knowledge
