DevSecOps Engineer
About this role
GVA Partners is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer in Lagos. The role combines development, security and operations to integrate security across DevOps processes. The engineer will work within Agile teams to automate deployment, monitoring and infrastructure management in cloud environments, and will collaborate with vendors and IT staff to resolve problems.
What you would do
- Provide hands-on technical expertise and support in general DevOps tasks
- Define and implement build, deployment and monitoring standards for the customer
- Contribute to end-to-end automation of deployment, monitoring and infrastructure management in a cloud environment
- Build and configure delivery environments supporting CD/CI tools using an Agile methodology
- Create scripts or templates to automate provisioning and management tasks
- Collaborate with development teams to automate CI/CD systems
- Work with vendors and IT personnel for problem resolution
- Monitor and support all installed systems and infrastructure
- Develop custom scripts to improve system efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Mentor junior infra engineers and promote secure development practices
What they are asking for
- BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- Experience with Jenkins, Docker, Java, Python, Ruby, Perl, scripting languages and YAML
- Experience deploying and monitoring web applications in AWS
- Security-focused mindset and experience with secure development practices
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and infrastructure provisioning/resting strategies
- Experience with systems reliability, load balancing, monitoring and logging
- Experience building end-to-end automated CI/CD pipelines
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in UNIX/Linux administration and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of networking (OSI layers, TCP/IP) and scripting (shell, Perl, Ruby, Python, Go, Groovy, Helm)
