Design and Architectural Manager
About this role
The Design and Architectural Manager will lead the design programme from concept stage through technical design across all packages for Collection Developments. The role involves coordinating design consultants on major construction projects, managing package release sequencing, enforcing design freezes and changes, and ensuring current drawings are available on site.
What you would do
- Own and manage the design programme from concept to technical design for all packages.
- Coordinate all design consultants (architect, structural engineer, landscape architect, fire engineer, and specialists) and chair the weekly design team meeting.
- Manage the design package release schedule to ensure packages are issued for construction in the sequence required by the Construction Manager.
- Enforce design freeze after concept approval and handle post-freeze changes through the formal change order process.
- Review and comment on design packages before issue, identifying coordination errors and resolving them before they reach site.
- Maintain the master drawing register for all disciplines.

- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related built environment discipline; registration with the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience, with at least 4 years in design management or senior architectural coordination on major construction projects.
- Strong understanding of architectural and structural design processes, drawing standards, and coordination requirements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; proficiency in Revit or equivalent BIM software is highly desirable.
- Experience managing consultant teams on fast-track or Design and Build projects in Nigeria.
- Proficiency in document management platforms such as Procore, Aconex, or equivalent.
