Deputy Security Manager
About this role
The role is for a Deputy Security Manager based in Port-Harcourt, Rivers. The person will lead impartial security investigations into incidents, losses and threats affecting BINL personnel, operations and assets, and support the Country Security Manager in protecting offices, bases, vessels and offshore facilities. They may act in the absence of the Country Security Manager and must follow applicable laws, procedures and OCIMF OVMSA expectations. The position requires coordinating investigations, preserving evidence, and providing continuity of security advice to management and clients. The role involves applying company and contractual security arrangements and performing Company Security Officer duties when designated and qualified.
What you would do
- Plan and lead investigations within approved terms of reference
- Coordinate witnesses and specialists and preserve evidence
- Escalate threats to life or major operational exposure
- Record case intake, scope, resources and reporting dates
- Secure scenes and preserve logs, manifests, CCTV, data and exhibits
- Maintain exhibit register and chain of custody
- Engage IT or forensic specialists for digital evidence
- Conduct non-coercive interviews and record statements
- Work with HR and Legal on rights, confidentiality and whistleblower protection
- Prepare analysis and investigation reports with findings and recommendations
What they are asking for
- Bachelor’s Degree in security management, criminology, law, risk management, maritime studies or a related discipline
- At least 10 years of security experience, including five years leading investigations and three years supervising personnel
- Formal CSO cover requires written designation and related competencies
- ASIS PCI, CPP, CFE or comparable qualification; ISPS internal-auditor training
- Appointment as deputy does not automatically confer CSO, SSO or PFSO roles
