About this role
The role is Deputy Head of Finance for the Gboko and Okpella plants within Dangote Cement Transport. It supports the Head of Finance by overseeing financial activities, ensuring robust planning, budgeting, reporting, and compliance with accounting standards. What you would do
- Assist in developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with business goals
- Oversee preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
- Provide timely financial data and insights to guide decision-making
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and local financial regulations
- Lead financial planning and analysis processes to support goals
- Monitor performance against budget and address variances
- Support management of relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and stakeholders
- Mentor and develop the finance team
- Implement and monitor internal controls to mitigate financial risks
- Maintain robust financial reporting and control environment

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
- Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA are highly desirable
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and standards
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to present financial information clearly
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
