Department Manager - Checkout

What you would do

• Develop and manage tills and checkout staff schedules to maintain service standards.
• Coordinate breaks and provide backup staffing as needed.
• Oversee cashiers and porters to ensure quality service during checkout.
• Manage housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, wrapping, packing, and trolley/basket control.
• Ensure daily cash-ups, perform spot checks on tills, and handle change requests accurately.
• Assist customers with price, merchandise, and loyalty card inquiries.
• Encourage customer feedback and funnel it to improve satisfaction.
• Train and motivate checkout staff for efficient and friendly service.
• Coach staff on handling theft, complaints, returns, exchanges, coupons, and offers.
• Direct and control staff buying procedures to improve customer experience.

• B.Sc. or HND in any related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in customer service operations or banking as a customer/teller service specialist.
• Must have NYSC discharged/exemption or exclusion letter.
